Lawyers up-to-date

Dushanbe, Tajikistan, 2-4 August 2017. In the framework of’ ‘Access to Justice’, experienced trainers conducted a refresher training for SA LAC (State Agency Legal Aid Centre) lawyers. The training was to refresh and strengthen previously acquired knowledge on specific topics in the field of civil and family law. Topics for the training were selected based on the test results, which determined knowledge gaps on family law protection, property rights of spouses, loan contracts and mortgages, alimony, parents’ responsibilities, and support of dependants.
During the training, SA LAC lawyers discussed case studies and had a chance to delve into problem during a Q&A session. The post-training evaluation showed an average increase of knowledge by 30%. At the end of the session, all participants received training modules with most up-to-date legal information, decrees and regulations related to Tajik Family and Civil Law.
The State Agency SA LAC was established on January 27, 2016 and is a specialised structure of the Ministry of Justice to manage Free Legal Aid and pilot models for its provision in accordance with the Concept of Free Legal Aid in the Republic of Tajikistan (approved by the Government in November, 2015).
